CIMC Energy Storage’s First Energy-Saving and Carbon Reduction Renovation Project Was Put into Operation
Recently, CIMC Energy Storage’s first air compressor energy-saving renovation project has been successfully put into operation and achieved remarkable results, which is a project on the energy-saving renovation of air compressor stations implemented by CIMC Energy Storage at Zhumadian CIMC Huajun Casting Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Huajun Casting”), a subsidiary of CIMC Vehicles, which aims to reduce energy consumption by applying high-efficiency and energy-saving equipment, further promoting the Company’s goals of energy conservation and carbon reduction, while enhancing its production efficiency.
It was learnt that CIMC Energy Storage replaced the three old air compressors of Huajun Casting, which had a total power of 594KW, with three integrated, intelligentized containerized air compressor stations with a total power of 480KW. The new air compressor stations integrate modules such as high-efficiency air compressors, air cooling systems, refrigerated air dryers, and intelligent control systems, enabling efficient and intelligent compressed air supply. The equipment for the energy-saving project of Huajun Casting was put into use after smooth installation and commissioning. After operational verification, the project has met its overall goals, achieving an energy-saving efficiency of approximately 30%. It is expected that the project will reduce carbon emissions by about 5,399 tons of CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) during the contract period, representing approximately 1,262 tons of standard coal equivalent (tce), successfully realizing savings in electricity, equipment maintenance, and labor costs, which signifies significant environmental and economic benefits.
In addition to achieving energy-saving effect, the new air compressor station, as a type of integrated containerized air compressor station, occupies a small area and is easy to move, without disrupting production. Also, the equipment for the project is more reliable and the air supply pressure is more stable after renovation, effectively improving the reliability of equipment movement and the quality of products. Currently, the project has achieved remote monitoring and unattended operation. As a leading supplier of logistics and energy equipment in the world, CIMC Group attaches great importance to improving ESG indicators. Nowadays, CIMC Energy Storage is actively introducing green and low-carbon technologies into its core businesses such as containers and vehicles, achieving preliminary success in energy-saving efforts on the electricity side. In the future, CIMC Energy Storage will continue to draw on experience and fully promote the implementation and operation of subsequent energy-saving and carbon reduction projects, to contribute to the CIMC Group’s commitment to “safety and health, green operation”.
