Recently, Nantong CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering"), a subsidiary of CIMC Enric worked with Wuyang Steel and Iron Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Wuyang Steel Plant") to kick off delivery and strategic cooperation signing ceremony for the first set of high manganese steel fuel tank for vessel at home. Wang Jianding, the executive deputy general manager of CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering, Lou Jiwei, a deputy general manager of CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering, Wei Guangsheng, the director of the purchasing department of CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering, Long Jie, a deputy general manager of Wuyang Steel Plant as well as Germany Hartmann Group, AC-INOX Company, DNV Classification Society representatives and the project team jointly witnessed this important moment.
According to the strategic cooperation agreement officially signed by both parties, CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering and Wuyang Steel Plant will carry out comprehensive cooperation in the research and development and manufacturing of high manganese steel fuel tanks for vessels, market expansion, technological innovation and other aspects, and jointly build up a leading domestic industry base for high manganese steel fuel tanks for vessels.
Since 2022, CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering has formed a joint research and development team with Wuyang Steel Plant and related classification societies and research institutes, specializing in the application of high manganese steel vessels. Through unremitting efforts, the team has surmounted key technologies such as material performance control, welding material matching, storage tank preparation, and product release standards and application guidelines, achieving the original innovation of the whole high-manganese steel industry chain. Notably, the "GasChem Phoenix" fuel tanks for vessels delivered on that day saw the material has been applied to the ship construction at home for the first time, marking a new generation of low-cost, high-performance, ultra-low temperature and domestic high-manganese steel achieving a leap from material basic research to domestic engineering applications. This milestone not only injected new vitality into the development of China's shipbuilding industry, but also provided strong support for the green development of the global shipping industry. In the future, CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering, continuing to adhere to the development idea of "Green and Sustainability", will join hands with Wuyang Steel Plant and other partners to jointly promote the research and development and application of vessel-related industry technologies to achieve more fruits, and contribute Chinese wisdom and forces to the green development of the global shipping industry.
